Miss. Gardenia

Miss Gardenia was born and raised in the Philippines, where she pursued her academic interests with fervor. In 1992, she graduated from Mindanao State University with a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Zoology.

After completing her Zoology degree, she felt a calling to explore another field of science that directly impacts human health. This led her to the University of San Carlos, where she graduated in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Pharmacy. That same year, she passed the Pharmacy Board Exam, a milestone that opened up new professional avenues for her.

Equipped with her pharmacy license, she took a bold step into the world of entrepreneurship by opening her own pharmacy business in the Philippines. For ten years, she dedicated herself to this venture, providing essential health services to her community. However, in 2012, she made a significant life change by immigrating to Calgary with her family as a permanent resident.

Her former job before becoming an Early Childhood Educator, she worked in the pharmacy here in Calgary for about four years then she realized that her true passion lay elsewhere.

Aside from that, she also enrolled at Prairie Western College where she graduated with a Business Administration Diploma in June 2023, here in Calgary.

Today, she is a dedicated Early Childhood Educator, channeling her diverse experiences and education into nurturing the next generation. Her background in science, pharmacy, and business administration provides a unique perspective that she brings into the classroom every day. She believed that early childhood education is the cornerstone of lifelong learning and development, and she is committed to making a positive impact on the lives of young children.

She has a passion for baking, where she finds creativity and solace in crafting delicious treats. Hiking allows her to connect with nature and maintain a healthy lifestyle, while hanging out with friends provides her with the warmth of companionship and shared experiences.

She is also a proud mother of a very responsible young adult son, whose growth and accomplishments continue to inspire her every day. Their journey together with her son and her husband has been filled with love, support, and mutual respect, strengthening their bond as they navigate life’s challenges and successes.

As she continues her journey as an Early Childhood Educator, she is excited about the future and the many opportunities to contribute to the growth and development of young minds. Her diverse background and continuous learning inspire her to strive for excellence in everything she does, always with the goal of making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
